The Burns Lab research centers around plant interactions, including with mutualists and pathogens in the soil. Our current research: Lean on me: the roles of microbial “friends” in ameliorating root rot disease in Rhododendron was selected for funding by the Horticultural Research Institute. This paid internship opportunity is a full-time position in the Summer of 2026 (May-August). Specific start and end dates are negotiable.
Interested students should be willing to get hot and dirty. This research will include greenhouse work. Must have a valid driver’s license. Most of the research will take place at University Farm (https://case.edu/farm/).
