The department of Biology held their annual Biology Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 25th. Students were awarded by the department for their outstanding research, UTA contributions, performance in biology.

Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Award for outstanding academic performance in biology – Ally Solomon
Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant – Jordyn Kelly and Kylie Hosey
Francis Hobart Herrick Award for outstanding biological research and academic excellence in biology – Mariana Labat
Russell M Lawall Prize in Biological Sciences presented for excellence in biology – Ian Swain
Ralph A Spengler Jr. Award given for excellence in plant science – Nathan Gilbert
Daniel Burke Prize for excellence in both biology and chemistry – Kaitlyn Kao

Undergraduates who presented outstanding research in this year’s Michelson Morley competition on April 18th were also awarded:

Miles Montegut in Dr. Atit’s lab
Ben Hafey in Dr. Frank Xie’s lab in the Lerner Research Institute at the Cleveland Clinic
David Yang in Dr. Brohier’s lab in the Department of Neurosciences
Matt Chang in Dr. Berkley Gryder’s lab in the School of Medicine
