This past summer, Biology PhD student in Jean Burns’ lab Saliha Ahmad published her paper “Yogurt for your plants: exploring microbes in the soil for candidates that protect plants against root rot disease” in the Journal of the American Rhododendron Society. In it she takes a look at the relationship between soil fungi and plants and how they can defend against pathogens.
