As part of CWRU’s bicentennial celebrations, the Biology Department is pleased to welcome back alumnus Dr. Bill Detrich. After completing his undergraduate degree here, Dr. Detrich went on to a PhD at Yale University followed by a faculty position at Northeastern University, where he is now a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Detrich has had a distinguished career as a researcher and academic, which includes serving as Principal Investigator for the United States Antarctic Program and an extensive record of publications on the evolutionary history, genome and physiological adaptations of Antarctic Icefish.
Dr. Detrich’s seminar will take place in the Dental Research Building G80 at 4pm Thursday, October 8th, and is titled “Evolution of Antarctic notothenioid fishes: a cold-adapted radiation confronts a warming future”. All members of the CWRU community are welcome.
