RFD_headshot_20141110

Richard Drushel came to CWRU as a freshman premed in Fall 1980 and has been here ever since.  His experiences as an undergraduate Biology major, medical student, Biology Ph.D. student, post-doctoral researcher, teacher, advisor, and administrator give him a unique perspective on education in the Department of Biology at CWRU.  A broad generalist, Dr. Drushel has taught LEGO robotics to engineering students, chemistry/biochemistry to nursing students, and anatomy and physiology to Biology majors, in both lecture and lab formats, as well as in pilot distance-learning project-based labs.  He developed many of the academic advising tools currently used for Biology majors, and has served as faculty advisor to Theta Chi fraternity and the CWRU Film Society for well over a decade each.  Dr. Drushel currently teaches BIOL 223 (Vertebrate Biology, also known as “Vert Lab”), BIOL 346 (Human Anatomy), and BIOL 340 (Human Physiology).
