Professor Rozek’s research involves investigations of mechanisms regulating gene expression, especially transcription and processing of messenger RNA. The model system currently used is the myosin heavy chain and cytochrome b loci ofDrosophila melanogaster. The Drosophila research involves investigations of mechanisms of RNA expression, convergent transcription, and structure of genes at chromosomal locus 36B.
